A US military transport aircraft, a C-17 Boeing Globemaster, landed at Amritsar's Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport on Wednesday afternoon. On board were 104 Indian immigrants, who were being deported from the USA.

The group consisted of individuals from several Indian states. Notably, 33 were from Haryana and Gujarat each, with 30 from Punjab. There were also three each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, and two from Chandigarh. The exact circumstances surrounding their deportation remain unclear.

The aircraft, operated by a US soldier whose name has not been made public, touched down in the afternoon, marking an unusual incident at the airport.
