The House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer, has demanded testimony from Biden's personal physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, and former White House officials, including Neera Tanden, Anthony Bernal, Annie Tomasini, and Ashley Williams. The investigation aims to determine if Biden's health was accurately represented to the public and whether his duties were performed by others.
The renewed scrutiny comes amid discussions about Biden's age and health, including a cancer diagnosis and the release of a book titled "Original Sin" by Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper. A parallel investigation into Biden's health is also being launched by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.).
The committee seeks responses by May 29 and has scheduled testimony between June 2 and 25. The Oversight Committee is also considering legislation to address oversight of presidents' fitness to serve.
