In the heart of Viersen, Germany, a unique charity event took place, bringing together participants, supporters, and sponsors in a celebration of solidarity and global responsibility. The event, which offered activities for various age groups from children's runs to half marathons, was a resounding success, with approximately 1800 runners taking part.

The organisers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the event's success. The Turner and TV Vorst, along with the voluntary helpers of action medeor, ensured the smooth running of the route posts, while Lebenshilfe Kreis Viersen e.V. took care of securing the parking lots. The TV Vorst also managed the runners' catering, and the country youth managed the drinks pavilion for a good cause.

The citizen bus offered a shuttle service, making it easy for everyone to attend. The event's atmosphere was described as great, with a sense of sport and social commitment permeating the air.

Stephanie Wickerath from action medeor explained that the donations raised at the event will be used for emergency aid in Sudan. The total donation amounted to 12,412 euros, making it the second highest donation after 2019.

A variety of helpers and sponsors provided a colorful supporting program, including nature experience education and culinary highlights. Patron and Apple Queen Nina I commented on the event's positive atmosphere, praising the spirit of community and camaraderie.

This event is more than just a run; it is a symbol of Viersen's commitment to supporting health initiatives in the Global South. As Stephanie Wickerath noted, "Our donations will provide much-needed supplies such as gloves, antibiotics, malaria tests, infusion solutions, thermometers, masks, and medical supplies to those in need in Sudan."
