The county police, in collaboration with local authorities, have launched 'Seniorenradeln', a cycling event series aimed at promoting safety and prevention among older cyclists.
The first 'Seniorenradeln' event is set for 09.10.2025 in Bocholt, with a participant limit of twelve to ensure individual needs are catered to. Registration is simple, involving a phone call to 02861-900-6161, where an answering machine will record your details. The route guidance for these events is based on current accident hotspots in the county, ensuring participants receive practical, relevant safety advice.
The 'Seniorenradeln' concept, part of Borken's prevention work, focuses on safety and prevention. Police officers will provide crucial tips on behaviour at intersections, roundabouts, bike lanes, and equipment use. The next event is scheduled for 30.10.2025 in the Ahaus area, indicating a regular commitment to senior cycling safety.
