Growing Investment in Inclusion Enterprises for Disabled Persons: Rhineland-Palatinate's Approach
Regional disability employment: Approximately 70 integration companies focus on job placements for disabled individuals. - Businesses supporting individuals with disabilities: Nearly 70 Inclusion Enterprises nationwide
The Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Labour has reported a significant increase in financial support for inclusion enterprises, rising from around 7.63 million euros in 2019 to approximately 13.5 million euros in 2024. This information was disclosed following a minor inquiry submitted by Green Party MP Daniel Köbler.
This increase can be attributed, in part, to the occurrence of various crises, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, energy crisis, and inflation, which led the Integration Office to enhance its backing for these inclusion enterprises.
Inclusion enterprises refer to organizations that commit to employing at least 30% of individuals with disabilities, actively participating in the economic sphere.
At present, there are approximately 1,100 job opportunities available for severely disabled individuals in these enterprises across Rhineland-Palatinate. The number of inclusion enterprises has remained relatively consistent over the past few years, with 67 in 2019, 70 in 2023, and 69 in the recent year. In total, these enterprises offer employment for 1,071 severely disabled individuals.
The Integration Office offers various types of support for those aiming to establish an inclusion enterprise. For instance, it grants investment cost subsidies of up to 30,000 euros per individual with a disability hired, ongoing personnel cost subsidies, and a monthly fixed sum of 350 euros per employee with a disability.
