Businesswomen from Kamchatka convene at "Business in Heels" conference

The energetic city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Kamchatka Krai recently hosted its annual women's business forum, affectionately dubbed 'Business in Heels'. With over 80 regional entrepreneurs in attendance, the forum aimed to serve as a hub for networking, learning, and growth.

Organized by the Kamchatka branch of "Business Russia," the Center "My Business," and the Bank of Russia, this forum offered a smorgasbord of activities designed to inspire and empower women in the business world, from workshops and interactive sessions to business games and keynote speakers.

As Ingа Mandrik, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Kamchatka Krai, exhorted during her opening remarks, "This forum offers us an additional March 8 - a day filled with beauty, camaraderie, problem-solving, and, most importantly, creativity and entrepreneurship!"

The forum's jam-packed schedule boasted a World Café networking session, plenary discussions featuring successful businesswomen sharing their insights, and training sessions on crucial skills like safe partnerships, self-presentation, team-building, and proactive thinking.

One of the most intriguing workshops acclaimed was the catwalk session, demonstrating the versatility and ambition of the women in attendance.

The event culminated in a riveting discussion on the development of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City District, with Vice-Governor of Kamchatka Krai, Oksana Gerasimova, presenting a master plan for the city's growth and answering participants' questions.

'Business in Heels' has been an annual staple in Kamchatka for the past eight years. Over that time, it has served as a powerful launching pad for women entrepreneurs in the region, offering opportunities to gain new knowledge, connect with mentors and partners, and expand business opportunities.

While specifics on this year's event's impact remain to be seen, previous editions have shown a significant increase in networking opportunities, access to funding, and a boost in entrepreneurial confidence among participants. Although the event itself can be a catalyst for growth, continued support and resources are vital in ensuring the success of these ambitious women and their ventures.
