The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and CDPHP have partnered to launch a pilot program offering reduced-cost CDPHP Cycle! bike-sharing memberships for residents of the Albany Housing Authority. The initiative, which focuses on residents at Capital Woods Homes on Lark Drive, aims to provide low-cost, sustainable transportation options with strategically placed bike racks near multiple Albany Housing Authority developments.

Starting at just $4 per month, residents can enjoy access to over 600 bikes, including more than 400 e-bikes, enabling greater mobility and health benefits. The program, which emphasises equitable access to mobility, health benefits, and community impact, is the brainchild of CDTA CEO Frank Annicaro and CDPHP President Brian O’Grady.

Albany Housing Authority Executive Director Chiquita D’Arbeau is thrilled about the partnership, highlighting the plan to install CDPHP Cycle! racks near housing developments, improving transportation options for residents. The pilot program will begin with one Albany Housing Authority development, with potential for expansion to more locations.

To sign up, residents must provide proof of residency by notifying the Albany Housing Authority Resource Center by calling or emailing. Full details, current bike locations, and the app are available at www.cdphpcycle.org.
