Children from the local region who were injured, were transported to Astana via air.
In a tragic turn of events, a car accident in Besterek, Urjar District, Abai Region, on August 19, claimed the lives of three children aged between 2 and 7. Three other children, aged 6 to 9, were injured in the accident.
The regional authorities have taken swift action to provide support to the affected families. The akim of the region, Berik Uali, has ordered that all necessary support, including psychological and material assistance, be provided to the families to organize the funerals. Uali also expressed his condolences to the families who lost their children.
The injured children have been transported to the Multidisciplinary City Children's Hospital No. 2 in Astana for treatment. The patients are currently under the care of Dr. Xenia Kuznetsova, the head of the anesthesiology-resuscitation team, who is working tirelessly to ensure their recovery.
A third child, a 9-year-old girl, remains in the hospital due to an unstable condition. She is under the supervision of the region's chief out-of-staff anesthesiologist-resuscitator D. Karimov.
An air ambulance from the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine (NCCEM) departed from Urjar District with the two injured children on board. Accompanying the children on the air ambulance are E. Shatalina, an NCCEM anesthesiologist-resuscitator, N. Zhakipov, a trauma surgeon from MCDH 2 in Astana, and S. Seitbekov, a neurosurgeon from the National Center for Neurosurgery.
At the scene, a multidisciplinary team of specialists from the regional and republican levels conducted a full range of diagnostic tests, assessed the condition of the injured, and developed a plan for surgical treatment. The team included experts in anesthesiology, resuscitation, trauma surgery, and neurosurgery, ensuring that the injured children receive the best possible care.
As the injured children's conditions stabilize, they will be transported by air to Astana for further treatment. The community hopes for their swift recovery and sends its thoughts and prayers to the affected families during this difficult time.
