Brumadinho Offers Free Dental Care Program to Residents

In an effort to promote oral health and ensure that everyone has access to essential dental care, the Prefeitura de Brumadinho has launched the "Odonto Para Todos: Cada bairro, um novo sorriso" initiative. This program, which runs from July 23rd to August 6th, will utilize an odontomóvel (mobile dental clinic) to provide services such as evaluations, cleanings, and oral hygiene instructions to various neighborhoods in Brumadinho, part of the Belo Horizonte metropolitan region.

The schedule and locations for the odontomóvel services are as follows:

  • July 23rd to July 25th: UBS Progresso/Grajau
  • July 28th and July 29th: UBS Santa Efigênia
  • August 1st: Rodoviária (Bus Station)
  • August 4th to August 6th: CAPS and Ponto de Apoio do São Conrado

To receive care, residents should go to the scheduled location with their ID and SUS (public health system) card. The program aims to provide dental services to as many residents as possible, and updates and possible changes will be posted on the Secretaria de Saúde de Brumadinho's official Instagram page.

According to Mayor Gabriel Parreiras, the concern for the population's dental health continues even during holidays. Cinthya Pedrosa, the Secretary of Health, emphasized the importance of the program, stating that oral health directly influences overall body health.

The dental mobile unit will also visit Rodoviária on July 1st and will be stationed at CAPS and the Support Point of São Conrado from August 4th to 6th. Residents are encouraged to follow the Health Secretariat's official Instagram page for the most up-to-date schedule and information.

By offering this free dental care program, the city of Brumadinho hopes to ensure that everyone can access essential dental care and maintain good oral health for a healthier and happier life.

Additionally, this health-and-wellness initiative, Odonto Para Todos, extends beyond dental care, as it promotes science and education, teaching residents about oral hygiene and its impact on overall health. Furthermore, the city of Brumadinho, through its science-backed efforts, strives to foster healthier communities by improving residents' access to science-based health and wellness practices.
