Fun Fact:

Did you know that hush puppies, deep-fried cornbread balls, are a southern tradition? They're typically eaten with seafood, like fried catfish, and often served with a sweet dipping sauce. Hush puppies derived their name from ancient tales of fishermen wanting to keep their dogs quiet while throwing nets, so they'd throw them scraps of cornbread to calm them down [1][2].
