In the latest update from the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, the county health department has expanded testing efforts to include anyone experiencing respiratory infections. The new measure allows anyone from the district to get clarity about their COVID-19 status.

The public health department (Gesundheitsamt) of Rhein-Kreis Neuss, responsible for conducting COVID-19 tests in the district encompassing Neuss and Grevenbroich, has carried out over 4000 tests so far. Out of these, 604 tests have come back positive for COVID-19.

Currently, 76 individuals have been confirmed infected with COVID-19 in the county. However, the curve of new COVID-19 infections in Rhein-Kreis Neuss has flattened significantly, indicating a decrease in the spread of the virus.

On a positive note, 510 individuals have already recovered from the virus in the county. Furthermore, 3369 individuals have been released from quarantine after not showing symptoms during the 14-day incubation period.

As of now, 251 individuals are in quarantine in Rhein-Kreis Neiss as suspected COVID-19 cases, recommended by the county health department. The hotline number for the county health department is 0 21 81/601 77 77 and is reachable from 8 AM to 6 PM on weekdays, and from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekends and holidays.

Unfortunately, a 60-year-old woman from Jüchen has died from the consequences of a COVID-19 infection, increasing the number of deaths in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss to eighteen.

The county health department is responsible for central access and appointment coordination for COVID-19 tests. Individuals with respiratory infections are encouraged to get a COVID-19 test, as there are no longer any restrictive conditions for the test, such as contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases.
