A study conducted at the University of Bath in 2020 aimed to answer these questions. The research focused on young, healthy men, examining the effects of occasional overeating on nutrient levels in their bloodstream. The study found no immediate negative consequences in terms of losing metabolic control, gaining weight, becoming obese, or affecting overall health.

However, it's important to note that the main problem with overeating, regardless of the food, is that it can lead to obesity if done consistently.

Jamie Nadeau, not one to shy away from adding her own twists to meals, offers some advice on making frozen pizza a healthier choice. She suggests adding spinach, cherry tomatoes, and avocado to improve its health benefits. For an extra protein boost, cooking an egg on top of the pizza can increase its protein content and provide omega-3s. Adding frozen vegetables to the pizza can also improve its vitamin and mineral content.

To make the meal even more nutritionally dense, having premixed salad on the side can be a great addition. Jamie also recommends adding shredded sprouts, parmesan, chopped cucumbers, and leftover Greek yoghurt dip.
