Doctor Suspected of Drunk Surgery: Patient Dies at Kostanai Hospital
A tragic incident at Kostanai Regional Hospital has sparked investigations. A patient died during surgery, and the family alleges they were misled about the procedure's simplicity. A doctor is suspected of operating under the influence of alcohol.
The Kostanai Regional Police Department and the Kostanai Regional Station of Emergency Medical Care have launched investigations into the patient's death. The patient's daughter, Aseль Ospanova, claims the doctor was behaving inappropriately before the operation and was not sober.
The doctor in question, who heads the neuroхирургическим отделением, was found to have a blood alcohol level of 3.06 promille in a video taken after the operation. As a result, the doctor has been temporarily suspended from work pending the investigation's outcome. Nurlan Köşerbayev, head of the investigation commission related to the suspicion of an inappropriately drunk doctor in the Kostanai region, is overseeing the probe.
The family of the deceased patient alleges they were assured the operation was simple. However, the patient died during the procedure, raising serious concerns. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
