Garmin's health and fitness coaching undergoes significant modifications with the introduction of the Venu 4, piquing our interest.
In a move to elevate its fitness tracking offerings, Garmin has announced the launch of its latest smartwatch, the Venu 4. Scheduled to hit the market starting September 22, the Venu 4 promises a host of new features and improvements over its predecessor.
One of the standout additions to the Venu 4 is the Garmin Sleep Index, a new tool for analysing sleep data. This feature will provide users with a better understanding of their sleep patterns, offering insights into the quality and quantity of their sleep.
The Venu 4 also introduces a daily workout suggestion system, catering to various activities such as running, cycling, walking, and general fitness. Additionally, Garmin Coach, the personalised training plan, makes a return to help users achieve their fitness goals.
Compared to the Venu 3, the Venu 4 comes with a price increase, reflecting Garmin's overall price rise in 2025. The 41mm model will retail for $549, while the 45mm version will be priced at $599. Those opting for the premium leather band can expect to pay $599 for the 41mm and $649 for the 45mm model.
The Venu 4 also expands upon the features previously restricted on the Venu 3, including the ability to follow downloaded GPX courses, training load and effect, lactate threshold, performance condition, and features found on the Forerunner 570.
Another notable feature is the "mixed session activity profile," which allows users to log multiple activity types in a single session. This is particularly useful for those who engage in various sports or exercises during their workouts.
The Venu 4 also introduces a Garmin Fitness Coach, which creates a workout plan with 25 different types of workouts. This personalised approach to fitness is designed to help users achieve their health and wellness goals more effectively.
While details about external organisations or partner companies involved in component supply or manufacturing were not provided, it is known that Garmin is primarily responsible for the design, manufacturing, and technology integration of the Venu 4. Key components such as the AMOLED display are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The watch also features in-house developed optical sensors and software functions for health and fitness monitoring.
In addition to the Venu 4, Garmin also announced the Instinct Crossover AMOLED and Bounce 2 kids watch on Wednesday. These new additions further expand Garmin's range of fitness and smartwatch offerings.
