Global endeavor addressing climate change issues
The district of Regensburg is gearing up for an informative and engaging event focused on climate adaptation and resilience. Scheduled for September 28, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 5 PM, the event titled "Weather. Change. Us - Solutions for Tomorrow" will take place at the energy education center um:welt, located at Haus RUBINA, Rudolf-Vogt-Straße 18, 93053 Regensburg.
This event, organised by the Energy Agency Regensburg, the district, and the city of Regensburg, aims to address the challenges of climate change in the region and the existing solutions for adaptation. The funding for the climate adaptation management of the district of Regensburg comes from a decision made by the German Bundestag, with additional support from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety, and Consumer Protection (BMUV).
The um:welt project, a collaboration between the Energy Agency Regensburg, the city, and the district of Kelheim, is located within the TechCampus. This interactive educational facility, spanning approximately 600 square meters, features six interactive experience areas on energy, climate, and environment.
Visitors can expect a variety of activities, including information and practical tips for home, garden, and daily life from climate adaptation and climate resilience managers. There will be a climate course to experience how different surfaces heat up, a craft activity with UV bead bracelets to learn about sunlight in a playful way, and interactive stations on energy, climate, and environment.
Admission to the event is free, but regular admission prices apply for the um:welt exhibition: Adults 5 Euro, Children 3 Euro. The um:welt exhibition does not require registration for the event on September 28, 2025.
It's important to note that the um:welt project is not an advertisement, but rather an educational facility focused on energy, climate, and environment. The event is a great opportunity for the community to learn about the locally felt consequences of climate change, such as increasing drought, heat waves, heavy rain, and damages in forests and agriculture, and to discover solutions for a more climate-resilient future.
