Health Official from WHO Pays Friendly Call on Kogi Ministry of Health Department
In a significant move for health services in Kogi State, Dr. Mahmud Seid, the newly appointed World Health Organization (WHO) State Coordinator, paid a visit to the Kogi State Ministry of Health on September 15, 2025.
Upon his arrival, Dr. Seid was warmly received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, who welcomed him on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adams Adeiza Abdulazeez. The Permanent Secretary reaffirmed the management's commitment to closely collaborate with Dr. Seid to ensure the successful implementation of WHO programs in the state.
Dr. Seid expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and expressed his eagerness to foster a strong and harmonious relationship with the Kogi State Ministry of Health. He also committed to working closely with the Ministry to effectively fulfil the WHO's mandate in Kogi State.
In response, the Permanent Secretary appreciated the WHO's ongoing support and partnership. He assured Dr. Seid of the Ministry's full cooperation and support in his role. The Permanent Secretary also expressed the Ministry's gratitude for Dr. Seid's commitment to collaborate closely with them.
It is important to note that the visit took place on the same day that Dr. Seid was officially appointed as the WHO State Coordinator. The previous WHO state coordinator in Kogi State, Dr. Michael Ebong, is no longer in this role.
Mr. Rotimi Odofin, the Information Officer at the Ministry of Health in Kogi State, was not present at the meeting to provide any additional information about the visit or the proposed state master plan from the Kogi Ministry of Housing.
