Hollis Keith, A Life Well-Lived, Remembered in Colorado

Hollis Keith, a beloved figure in the community of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on October 7, 1935, in Abilene, Texas, Hollis spent most of his life in Colorado, where he made a significant impact on those around him.

Hollis attended Abilene High School and married Wanda Atwood on June 4, 1956. After their marriage, they moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where Hollis served in the military with the 82nd Airborne Division. The couple later returned to Colorado, where they lived in Arvada for 51 years before moving to Littleton.

Throughout his life, Hollis demonstrated a lifelong work ethic and a commitment to his community. He spent most of his career as a member of Sheetmetal Local #9 in Denver, CO, and in 1992, he went into business, opening Classic Metal, Inc. in Denver. This company specialized in stainless steel, copper, and bronze, and Hollis's son, Charlie Keith, and grandson Charles Robert Keith also contributed to the metal artworks around Denver.

Hollis was not just a hard worker, but also a loving family man. He had two children, Charles Hollis Keith and Lori Diane Keith (Kraft), and was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Keith. He is survived by his son Charlie (married to Laura), daughter Lori (married to Steve Kraft), grandchildren Charles, Jared (married to Bethany), Natalie (married to Nate Lawson), and great-grandchildren Brodie, Mackenzie, Pricilla, and Highland. He also leaves behind a sister, Betty Susan Raughton, many nieces and nephews, and close friends.

Hollis was described as an avid sports fan, enjoying watching The Nuggets, Rockies, and Broncos. He also had a love for old western shows. In his free time, he enjoyed playing card games with friends and spending time with his beloved dogs.

A Celebration of Life for Hollis Keith will be held at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth, Lakewood, CO 80227, on August 4th at 11:00 am, with a reception following the service. The interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Area C, Denver, CO 80236, on August 4th at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests donations be made in Hollis's memory to a charity close to your hearts. Hollis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he called home, but his memory will live on through the wisdom and love for family that he shared with everyone he met.

Hollis's contributions extended beyond the metal artworks of Denver, as he also delved into various fields: he pursued law, opening a small business named Classic Metal, Inc.; he channeled his creative instincts into the arts, participating in several projects; and he showed an interest in scientific advancements, staying updated on technology trends.

In addition to his passion for his business and artistic endeavors, Hollis also had a keen interest in health and wellness, often prioritizing exercise and a balanced diet.

During his free time, Hollis demonstrated a strong affinity for academic pursuits, constantly seeking knowledge across diverse disciplines such as science, law, and the arts.
