Hospital in Nordhausen pushes beyond usual limits in necessary operations.

The South Harz Clinic in Nordhausen is undergoing a significant task with the relocation of the rescue helicopter "Christoph 37". Due to the renovation of the hangar and landing platform at the clinic, the helicopter will be temporarily stationed in Bad Berka to ensure its operation outside the legally prescribed deployment times.

The helicopter, which covers the route between Nordhausen and Bad Berka twice a day, will be moved to Bad Berka during the renovation works. The project leader, Gunther Hebestreit, estimates that the renovation will be completed by the end of October.

Other temporary stationing options were rejected due to inflexible legal regulations. Alternatives such as the airport near Bielen or the state police inspection at the Darre in Nordhausen were not feasible. The city of Nordhausen purchased the customs house by the city park with plans to revive it, but this project does not seem to be related to the helicopter's temporary stationing.

The construction of a hangar and landing platform for "Christoph 37" will begin at the South Harz Clinic in early September. Regulations from building, aviation, and nature conservation laws, as well as workplace safety on the construction site, must be considered during the renovation. Insurance considerations are a significant factor in the complex project.

The South Harz Clinic shares responsibilities for air rescue service with DRF Luftrettung and the German Red Cross. The managing director of the South Harz Clinic, Guido Hage, guarantees the helicopter's deployment during the renovation period.

Meanwhile, in Nordhausen, a new primary school is being built, and a new fashion store has opened in the city center. The project is complex due to insurance aspects, and the renovation works at the South Harz Clinic are considered more than necessary after 35 years of operation. The topping-out ceremony for the new primary school is a positive note for the city amidst the renovation works.
