Sweet Justice in Hesse: Over A Hundred Citizens Sue Over COVID-19 Vaccine Woes

Reports of 184 instances of COVID-19 vaccine side effects or damages reported in Hesse region - In Hessen region, there have been 184 reported cases of harm caused by COVID-19 vaccinations.

Let's cut to the chase, folks. More than a hundred residents of Hesse, Germany, have taken the authorities to court, claiming they've suffered after getting their COVID-19 jabs. That's right, 184 lawsuits have been filed with Hessian social courts, alleging vaccine-related injuries.

Jutta Mauer, the spokesperson for the Higher Social Court, spilled the beans at the presentation of the annual report of the Hessian social courts in Darmstadt. One lawsuit against the state on account of vaccination recommendations was a smashing success at a Hessian social court. The matter's currently under consideration at the Higher Social Court, and so is another case that didn't win the first round.

But here's a bummer: These lawsuits aren't aimed at the vaccine manufacturers, but at the state over vaccination recommendations. If you suspect you've been hit by a vaccine injury, you can file an application with the responsible state authority. If the authority's decision leaves a bad taste in your mouth, it's time to head to court.

Now, what about those cases? As per the annual report of the Hessian social courts:

  • The courthouses: You've got seven social courts in Hesse – in Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Fulda, Kassel, Gießen, Wiesbaden, and Marburg, and the Hessian Higher Social Court in Darmstadt. They handle issues like statutory pension, accident and health insurance, long-term care insurance, unemployment benefits, and benefits for asylum seekers. No room for boredom there!
  • The court cases: In 2024, the Hessian social courts dealt with 18,422 cases – a significant climb up from the 17,067 new lawsuits and urgent proceedings received. The number of lingering cases thus dropped, from 27,120 at end of 2023 to a surprisingly low 25,769 at the close of 2024 – the least in 20 years.
  • Higher Social Court cases: In the past year, 1,884 new cases were filed at the Higher Social Court, and 1,938 were wrapped up. As of 2024's end, there were 2,095 cases yet to be resolved, compared to 2,151 at the tail end of 2023 – a "very positive development," noting Higher Social Court President Wilhelm Wolf.

So, you're probably thinking, where's the beef? The details on those vaccine injury lawsuits remain tight-lipped, my friend. There's no public data readily available on their specifics or their current status yet. You'd have to dive deep into regional judicial records, official state health department releases, or legal databases to get the dirt on those cases – all of which are harder to come by than the golden ticket. And yes, as of May 2025, I've got zip for you in that department, sorry about that!

The Community aid could be utilized to support those filing lawsuits against the state over COVID-19 vaccine woes, as many claim to have suffered from vaccine-related injuries. The development of the less favored regions, such as Hesse, could benefit from scientific advancements in medical-conditions, particularly in the area of health-and-wellness, to combat vaccine-related injuries and improve overall health outcomes.
