Innovative inventions displayed by Tomsk scientists at U-NOVUS exhibition
May 22, Tomsk - RIA Tomsk: Tomsk State University is hosting an exhibition of innovative projects developed by its academics as part of the U-NOVUS forum, which focuses on technology and regional development. Among the showcased innovations are systems for locating people in forests using non-networked robots and prosthetic limbs.
The U-NOVUS forum for young scientists and entrepreneurs, scheduled for May 21-23, 2025, will take place in Tomsk. The event's main themes include technological leadership and the implementation of national projects in the region. Over 1,000 participants from 30 regions of Russia are expected, with more than 150 speakers delivering presentations.
According to a university press release, the Tomsk State University is hosting the 10th All-Russia U-NOVUS forum for young scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs. The exhibition features dozens of innovative projects aimed at medicine, biotech, chemical industry, space, construction, and other sectors.
In addition, students from Tomsk Polytechnic University demonstrated projects focused on rescue operations. These included a fire suppression system for buildings and structures based on non-networked technology, as well as a hardware-software complex for locating people lost in the forest.
Notably, startups founded by university students are also part of the exhibition. For instance, OOO "Garminix" displayed a spectral analyzer for predictive diagnosis of drives, while OOO "Platform Solutions" presented an AI service for adapting educational content for visually and hearing-impaired individuals.
Mikhail Golovatov, head of the innovation management division in science, technology, and technology at Tomsk State University, highlighted the high level of technical readiness of many exhibited projects. He noted that TRL 7 projects represent a real demonstration of technology in a near-complete state, following which a decision on series production is made.
