Meet the New Faces at Parkinson's NSW

Bringing fresh perspectives and a wealth of experience to the table, Tamie Harvie and Cassie Morgan have joined Parkinson's NSW.

Taking over from Nina Digiglio, Tamie steps into the role of the Parkinson's Specialist Nurse for the Shoalhaven region. Nina, meanwhile, has moved up the ranks to become a Nurse Educator with a state-wide remit. With 21 years of nursing experience under her belt, Tamie is no stranger to complex, acute, emergency, pathology, and palliative care. Her particularly strong background in mental health care will undoubtedly benefit those in the Shoalhaven area.

"I was drawn to Parkinson's NSW because this position allows me to make a positive impact on people navigating their Parkinson's journey," Tamie shared. Leveraging her extensive nursing experience, Tamie aims to provide personalized care, focusing on creating a supportive environment for those affected by the disease.

Cassie Morgan's journey has brought her from Warrnambool, Victoria, to the role of Support Group Coordinator. Replacing Felicity Jones, who has moved to the role of Client Services Coordinator for Parkinson's NSW, Cassie is eager to connect people living with Parkinson's and their carers to support groups across the state. Her background in health sciences, community engagement, and social connection projects has prepared her well for this role.

"My studies have given me a solid understanding of Parkinson's and its impact on physical, social, and mental health", Cassie explained. "I'm passionate about increasing the reach and engagement of support groups, and I look forward to working closely with them to provide a safe space and social connections for individuals with Parkinson's and their caregivers."
