Journey on the Return Trail

On September 18, 2025, the documentary 'The Hike Back' premiered, shedding light on an important and often overlooked issue - veteran suicide. Produced under the Grunt Style Foundation, this powerful film demonstrates how connection, camaraderie, and a little dark humour are helping veterans choose to stay alive.

'The Hike Back' offers an incredible look into what veterans are building together when they're finally allowed to show up as themselves. Through real conversations, laughter in the middle of pain, and unfiltered footage, the film portrays the power of community for veterans.

The documentary reveals what happens when veterans take healing into their own hands, with no filters, no protocols, and no polished scripts. It showcases the difference Irreverent Warriors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending veteran suicide through humor, connection, and camaraderie, is making in an honest and raw form.

Irreverent Warriors is known for its signature event, Silkies Hikes, which has brought together over 100,000 veterans for volunteer-led hikes in military PT gear. The director of 'The Hike Back' is Austin Klein.
