Kaiser Permanente's Flu Blitz Vaccinates 900 in Cerritos

Kaiser Permanente's Flu Blitz event in Cerritos on September 30, 2025, drew a large crowd, with over 1,100 residents turning out, including Kaiser Permanente Downey leaders, physicians, elected officials, and community members. The event, organized by Kaiser Permanente and promoted on Eventbrite, aimed to protect the community from influenza and other respiratory illnesses. Over 900 residents received flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, demonstrating the collective commitment to maintaining a healthy community through herd immunity. Cerritos Mayor Frank Aurelio, Artesia Mayor Ali Taj, and Cerritos Councilmember Sophia M. Tse, along with Dr. Sowmya Ananthanarayanan from Kaiser Permanente Cerritos Medical Offices, stressed the importance of annual flu shots in preventing influenza and its potential complications. The event was a success, with many residents taking advantage of the convenient opportunity to get vaccinated near them.
