In a significant humanitarian effort, the St. Augustinus Group and local initiative Neuss Helps have joined forces to send over 30 pallets of valuable medical supplies and equipment to the city hospital in Neuss and medical institutions in Ukraine.

The donation, which came from the St. Augustinus Group, includes a large C-arm X-ray system, modern ultrasound and blood transfusion devices, infusion pumps, incubators and warmers for newborns, extensive surgical materials, emergency kits, and much more. This aid is destined to benefit the inhabitants of Pawlohrad and refugees from areas affected by active fighting with Russian occupiers.

Max Lennertz, from Neuss Helps, expressed heartfelt thanks to the St. Augustinus Group, specifically Andreas Degelmann, for the valuable donations and cooperative relationship. Lennertz also thanked Frank Paulussen, head of warehousing and logistics, and his team for their personal commitment and professional handling.

Andreas Degelmann, CEO of the St. Augustinus Group, expressed gratitude for the existence of Neuss Helps and stated that as a non-profit organization, they are happy to support such associations. Degelmann also expressed deep respect and sincere gratitude towards the Pawlohrad City Council and the city hospital in Neuss.

Serhij Ostrenko, Secretary of the Pawlohrad City Council, expressed similar sentiments, expressing deep respect and sincere gratitude towards the St. Augustinus Group and Neuss Helps.

This latest shipment follows a significant delivery by Neuss Helps in early 2025, which involved delivering over 9 tons of humanitarian aid to medical institutions in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. The contents of this shipment included rehabilitation equipment, medical consumables, furniture, and household cleaning materials, aiming to support local healthcare facilities severely impacted by the ongoing conflict.

The city hospital in Neuss is the only facility in the region that provides inpatient care for women and children in labor or post-delivery. It treats civilians and soldiers around the clock in the departments of internal medicine, surgery, and neurology.

This latest aid effort is part of a coordinated approach to lifesaving medical support for Ukraine, complementing other aid efforts such as Nova Ukraine’s purchase of 18 medical evacuation vehicles. The impact of this delivery is significant in improving medical response and patient care within Ukrainian hospitals under strain from conflict-related injuries and shortages.

The St. Augustinus Group's donation, consisting of a C-arm X-ray system, ultrasound devices, blood transfusion equipment, and other health-and-wellness supplies, is not only aiding the city hospital in Neuss but also medical institutions in Ukraine, particularly those in Pawlohrad and areas affected by conflict. Other medical-conditions such as post-delivery complications and neurological ailments will benefit from this other science-driven assistance.
