Man, 31, Arrested After Alleged Knife Attack at Marburg Mental Health Facility
A 31-year-old man is in custody following an alleged knife attack on a 35-year-old employee at a Marburg mental health facility on September 10, 2025. The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred around 9 PM at the facility. The suspect, who is now being held in a psychiatric hospital, was arrested at the scene, and the weapon, a knife, was secured by police. The Mittelhessen Police Headquarters and the Marburg Public Prosecutor's Office have confirmed that Chief Inspector Ulrich Sommer is leading the investigation into the attempted murder. The suspect, a 31-year-old man, was presented to a duty judge at the Marburg Regional Court on September 11, 2025, who ordered his detention in a psychiatric hospital.
The Public Prosecutor's Office Marburg is currently investigating the suspect for attempted murder. The victim's condition is stable, and the investigation into the incident continues.
