In two separate incidents in Rayong province, Thailand, the tragic consequences of excessive alcohol consumption have come to light.

First, Thaweesak Namwongsa, a 44-year-old man from Ban Chang district, was found dead in his bedroom. His son, a 16-year-old, discovered him unconscious after a seizure. Paramedics arrived to find over 100 empty beer bottles in the room, aligned in a way that only a narrow path was clear for Thaweesak to get in and out of bed.

Authorities suspect that severe depression triggered by emotional stress following his divorce may have led to Thaweesak's refusal to eat and his reliance solely on beer, which likely contributed critically to his death. An autopsy is planned to determine the exact cause, but alcohol abuse and nutritional deficiencies from beer-only consumption are considered primary factors.

This tragic case serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of substance abuse and poor nutrition in the face of emotional distress after major life events.

In a separate incident, Thanakarn Kanthee, a Thai social media influencer known online as "Bank Leicester", died last year after consuming two bottles of whisky as part of a bet. Kanthee, who was 31 years old, became unconscious due to alcohol poisoning and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Reports suggest that a man named Ekkachart Meephrom, also known as "Em Ekkachart", was arrested for organizing a challenge that led to Kanthee's death. During questioning, Ekkachart confessed to the offense and revealed that his mother, Supranee Phoonkasi, had organized the party.

These incidents underscore the importance of responsible drinking and seeking help when dealing with emotional distress. It is crucial to remember that alcohol, while it may provide temporary relief, can have severe and potentially fatal consequences when consumed excessively or as a coping mechanism for emotional pain.
