Medical Helicopter Crashes in Sacramento, Community Unites to Save Nurse

A medical helicopter crashed onto Highway 50 in Sacramento, injuring three people on board, including a nurse identified as Suzie Smith. Remarkably, no drivers or passengers on the highway were hurt. The incident brought the community together, with bystanders quickly stepping in to help.

Priscilla Cochran-Navarra was the first to reach Suzie Smith and comforted her until help arrived. She later expressed her hope to reunite with Smith and thank her for the opportunity to assist. Cochran-Navarra, along with Terry and Ken De Crescenzo, played a crucial role in lifting the helicopter to free Smith. The pilot and paramedic on board have not been identified.

The helicopter crashed just feet in front of a car driven by Terry and Ken De Crescenzo. They, along with Cochran-Navarra, were in the right place at the right time to offer aid. The incident highlighted the unity of the Sacramento community, with people from different backgrounds coming together to assist.

Three victims, including Suzie Smith, remained in critical condition. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Despite the seriousness of the incident, the quick response of bystanders helped ensure the safety of those on the ground.
