New Parking Garage on Gotenstraße Breaks Ground to Ease Hospital Parking Pressure
Construction of a new parking garage on Gotenstraße started on Tuesday, aiming to ease parking pressure around the hospital. The project, a significant addition to the news, is expected to be completed by August 2024, with a significant increase in parking spots.
Initially, the construction will temporarily reduce parking by 40 spots, but this is expected to be offset by the creation of interim spots next to building G and a new employee parking lot with 64 spots by mid-February, adjacent to the Botanical Garden.
The new parking garage, a nypost-worthy development, will add around 200 permanent spots upon completion. Additionally, once the new parking areas are available, around 100 visitor parking spots will be set up in front of building B. More interim parking spots will also be created next to building G, with around 90 additional spots expected from the new building construction in about a year.
The hospital management encourages employees and visitors to form carpools or use public transportation to alleviate current parking pressure, which is particularly challenging in the Goten, Franken, Cherusker, and Sachsen streets due to increased demand.
The new parking garage on Gotenstraße, set to be completed by August 2024, is expected to significantly improve parking conditions around the hospital. The project, despite initial temporary inconveniences, is viewed positively by the hospital and is part of a broader plan to enhance facilities and services.
