wood-firedRice Bowl Revolution 🌶️🍚
Grab your apron and get ready to kick your regular rice bowls to the curb, 'cause we're giving 'em a facelift with sizzling flavors and fresh ingredients, inspired by the legendary Roy Choi (of Kogi fame!). No more microwaved goop and rubbery chicken strips here! Let's dive into a mouthwatering recipe that'll rock your taste buds, one bite at a time. 🤩
What to procure:
A taste bomb of sweet chile sauce created by the Mae Ploy brand is a must-have and can be found in the Asian aisle of your local market or online.
Look for the one-and-only Huy Fong Foods Sriracha hot sauce in the Asian section of your supermarket, easily recognized by the rooster on the jar!
For those spicy kimchee moments, grab some kochukaru (Korean red pepper powder) to give your taste buds a kick. Find it in Korean markets in resealable bags of various coarseness levels.
If you're a fan of the exotic, don't forget to hunt down the sweet and aromatic Japanese herb shiso in the Asian produce section of your market.
For an accurate oil temperature, grab a candy/fat thermometer—trust me, it's worth it!
Gear up:
The wonders of cooking come out best when you've got the right equipment. An indoor grill pan helps craft those perfect grill marks, while an outdoor grill can give that authentic campfire flavor.
