Sunday at the Regina Margherita Hospital, a Music Festival for patients and their families featured music, trampoline fun, and superhero-themed activities.
The Regina Music Fest, a unique music festival dedicated to young patients and their families, is set to return for its third edition on Sunday, September 21st, 2023, in Piazza Polonia, 94, Turin. This year's event promises an exciting lineup of performances, games, and entertainment from 4 pm to 7 pm.
The festival is organized by ODV, Regina Margherita Children's Hospital, Città della Salute e della Scienza of Turin, and Hiroshima Mon Amour Cultural Association. The initiative is supported by several institutions and associations, including the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the Beauftragte für Kultur und Medien (BKM), the Kuratorium junger deutscher Film, and the Deutscher Filmförderfonds (DFFF).
Ablaye Magatte Dieng, the founder of Tamra Cultural Association, will bring the energetic Afro sound to the festival. Alongside Dieng, numerous artists have accepted the invitation to participate, including Eugenio Cesaro, Bandakadabra, Neja, Melody Castellari aka Lady Violet, and the 4Calamano sisters. Gremlins Soundtracks and Cavalieri di Zara are two Turin bands that will also perform at the festival.
The event will feature interviews with various volunteers, doctors, nurses, researchers, supporters, and collaborators from the Ugi world. Pietro Morello, a multi-instrumentalist, TikToker, and innovator, will lead the day with his music therapy projects. Mattia Villardita will appear as Spiderman, and Settimo Circo School's stilt-walkers will perform dressed as the legendary rock band Kiss.
The project includes the integration of a space dedicated to young patients, offering specialized and integrated rehabilitation paths. The aim of this year's edition is to contribute to the expansion of the rehabilitation structure. Comedian and content creator Davide D'Urso will also be present at the festival.
The Regina Music Fest is supported by the Reale Foundation and Iren Group. Collaborating on the event are SIAE and several associations, including AABC, Abio, AIC, AITF Bimbo Odv, AVO, Amicolibro Cultural Association, VIP Torino, Forma Foundation, THUN Foundation, MATI Odv, Theodora Foundation, Ghostbusters Italia and Piemonte section, Casa Giglio, Martoglio Foundation, Settimo Circo, La Mole del Sorriso, Sound Laboratory, Alpini of Pianezza, La Fattoria del Gelato, Pian della Mussa, Ad hoc foto, Ciessepi, Fiorentini, and Croce Verde di Torino.
