Unforeseen Speed: Pair Welcomes Rare Quadruple Birth, Hospital's First in a Quarter of a Century
In a remarkable turn of events, Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota, welcomed the first quadruplets born in the state since 1999 on July 28, 2023. Bobbijean and Gabby Gidley, the proud parents, were initially taken aback when they learned that their family was set to grow by four[1][2].
The quadruplets, named Roselia Jo, Lillete Lynn, Miller Jon, and Icelynn, arrived at the hospital at 6:37 and 6:39 a.m., with the hospital staff ready for the rare and intense delivery[1]. The Gidleys had to make a late-night drive from Grand Rapids to Duluth for the birth.
The hospital staff, including more than 25 health care workers who came in on their days off, were commended for their diligence and dedication[1]. The planning for the delivery was extensive, with the maternal child health nurse manager, Micah Alton, expressing pride in the staff's handling of the challenging situation[1].
