StormFest in Omsk Celebrates a Decade of Martial Arts and More
In the heart of Omsk, Russia, the city's Lubinsky Prospekt played host to a grand festival of healthy living, StormFest/25. Organised by the Storm martial arts school of Alexander Shlemenko, this year marked the school's 10th anniversary.
The festival was a vibrant mix of sports, entertainment, and education, with 10 thematic locations dotting the prospectus. Visitors could engage in activities such as trampoline shows, pull-up bars, jump rope, an eight-meter climbing wall, virtual bike races, 3D printing, robot games, kinesiotherapy, massages, and posture checks.
The highlight of the event was the MMA Grand Prix, which took place at the octagon, with finals in the 61.2 kg and 65.7 kg weight classes. In the 61.2 kg category, Dmitry Voyazitov from Chelyabinsk emerged victorious, defeating Manvel Zakaryan from Yekaterinburg. In the 65.7 kg class, Anushervon Naibov from Yekaterinburg claimed the title, besting Andrei Petelin from Tyumen. Both champions received prizes and a chance to compete in the future SFC tournament.
The festival concluded with a concert by the group Burito on the main stage. Gari Burito, the lead musician, performed hits like "Mom," "On the Waves," "Take Off," and "Take My Heart." The concert was a fitting end to a day filled with energy and excitement.
One of the most spectacular shows of the day was the high-wire walk by Vladimir Murzaev and Tatiana Cherepkhina. Ropes were strung from one tower to another, creating a tightrope 15 meters above Lubinsky Prospekt. The duo walked the line for a distance of 70 meters, sending air kisses to the city's residents as they went.
The festival also featured a dog show organised by the Omsk Federation of Dog Sports. Visitors could interact with the dogs, adding a touch of warmth to the event.
The awards were presented by the Minister of Sports of the Omsk region, Alexei Lenberg, and the founder of the promotion, Alexander Shlemenko. The evening concluded with a high-line show by the Russian aerial artist and musician Anastasia "Nastya" Zolotareva.
StormFest/25 was a testament to the spirit of Omsk, bringing together sports, entertainment, and community in a celebration of health, fitness, and camaraderie.
