Urgent Care Centre Proposal Accelerated by Catral
The town of Catral is taking significant steps to enhance its healthcare services, with a proposed health centre set to offer continuous medical care and a 24-hour Continuous Care Point (PAC) [1]. This move aims to provide quicker, more effective emergency treatment and alleviate pressure on hospital emergency rooms.
The PAC will offer urgent medical attention outside regular primary care hours, ensuring prompt treatment for Catral residents, particularly in emergencies [2]. The proposed facility, if established, will be part of the Vega Baja public health system, aligning with the Catral council's action plan to guarantee quality care and accessible services for all residents [3].
In line with the council's action plan, Mayor Joaquín Lucas and Councillor for Health, Daniel Escudero, recently met with Dr. Dario Medina, the Managing Director of Health Department 21 of the Vega Baja, and Dr. Arañazú Segui, the Medical Director of Primary Care [4]. The meeting at the Town Hall was a key part of the action plan to reinforce resources within the Vega Baja public health system [5].
In addition to the proposed health centre, Catral officials have called for an increase in emergency medical transport services [6]. This includes requests for more SAMU (Advanced Life Support) and SVB (Basic Life Support) units to better meet the needs of the town's growing population and evolving healthcare requirements [7].
The Catral council's ongoing action plan is designed to provide accessible healthcare services for all residents and strengthen healthcare provision within the Vega Baja public health system [8]. This initiative reflects a commitment from the local government to enhance medical infrastructure and reduce hospital load during emergencies [1].

With the establishment of the proposed health centre and the 24-hour Continuous Care Point (PAC), the town of Catral is advancing its healthcare services in the realm of science, aiming to address a wide range of medical-conditions and contribute to the overall health-and-wellness of its residents. In this plan, additional emergency medical transport services, including more SAMU and SVB units, are sought to ensure efficient healthcare delivery for the town's growing population and evolving healthcare needs.
