Woman experiences anaphylactic reaction following hornet assault

In an incident that took place on Friday, a young woman was attacked by hornets in Toepler Park, Dresden-Tolkewitz. The victim, a 25-year-old woman, was stung multiple times on the head.

Emergency services were promptly called, and the woman received necessary treatment. However, no new information about her current condition has been provided.

The hornets' nest, which was the source of the attack, was located in a meadow within the park. The fire department, equipped with protective gear and a vacuum cleaner, successfully removed the nest on Saturday.

Despite the removal, the specific species of hornets involved in the incident remains unidentified. The fire department has not disclosed any details about the number of hornets in the nest or the extent of damage caused during its removal.

The area around the meadow where the nest was located was cordoned off immediately following the incident. The cordoned-off area has now been reopened to the public, with the fire department advising park visitors to remain vigilant and avoid disturbing any potential hornets' nests.

Interestingly, the fire department reported that the hornets' nest was located closer to the park's entrance than initially thought. The nesting site is likely located in a tree cavity or hollow near a recreational area.

After the removal of the nest, no hornets were found in the immediate vicinity. The fire department issued a report on the incident on Saturday. The news source for this report is still dpa.
